Lauren Hymel, Assistant Principal
Mrs. Lauren Hymel
I am honored to serve as one of the Assistant Principals of New Sarpy Elementary. As someone who began my own educational journey here as a “little mudbug,” it is incredibly special to now return in this role. At NSE, we live by our motto: Work hard. Stay kind. Repeat. Every day, we work toward our mission — to ensure high levels of learning for every student. I am grateful for the opportunity to work alongside such a dedicated team and to partner with our students, families, and community to help every child succeed.
Born and raised in St. Charles Parish, I graduated from Destrehan High School before earning my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and my master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Southeastern Louisiana University. I taught at Lakewood Elementary for 15.5 years before stepping into school leadership, and I am thrilled to bring that experience to New Sarpy Elementary.
My husband, Jimmy, and I live in Luling with our son, James. He keeps us busy, and when I’m not at school, you can usually find me at the ballpark cheering him on.
